Jim Riley is a Burlington, ON, based video artist and independent curator. His recent art practice involves video installations and exploring the juxtaposition between video and painting in what he calls “video paintings”. Some of his videos may also be presented as single channel screenings.
His art practice is a blend of documentary evidence, personal ideology, social commentary and artistic investigations. Environmental and identity issues are often woven into his themes. Riley's present aesthetic investigations explore time and perceptual memory.
